Impact Update: Over $8,000 of basic needs items distributed!

First Five Months: Impact update

Since receiving formal FL Sunbiz incorporation five months ago, BTP has:

  • Distributed over $8,000 worth of hygiene and basic dignity items throughout Leon County. 
    • To illustrate this magnitude, this includes over 1,750 menstrual products, 500 diapers, 500 pairs of socks, 450 toothbrushes, 450 toothpastes, 400 pairs of undergarments, 400 travel-size toiletry items, 275 deodorants, 200 bars of soap, 100 pet food items, 100 reusable tupperware, 100 disposable razors, 100 paper products and bathroom tissue, and so much more.
  • Supported over 12 local organizations and initiatives that have benefitted from basic needs donations.
    • This includes Big Bend Homeless Coalition, Capital City Youth Services, City Walk Urban Mission, Community Action Grants, ECHO, Food Not Bombs Tallahassee Chapter, GFWC Sisters of Service benefitting Tallahassee Refreegerator, Leon County Humane Society, Refuge House, Southern Scholarship Foundation, Tally Community Aid, Kearney Center, and community help shelves, including the Leadership Tallahassee Help Shelf at Big Bend Cares. 
  • Fundraised $1,250 in cash donations and received in-kind donations valued over $5,000, representing contributions from over 30 individual donors and groups to this effort.
